If I hide something, does it still go out in the email?

Everything from the moment you press Hide or Delete is handled. What it can't do is unsend an email that has already gone.

Updated 15 September 2026

Hidden and deleted content stops counting straight away: not quoted in the daily digest, not ranked up the highlights, not counted on the post, and no points. It cannot set off a digest on its own either.
  1. Read the last line of the confirm

Every hide and delete confirm ends the same way: anyone already emailed has seen it. That is the one thing moderation can't take back.

The confirm says it before you press, not after.

  2. A held comment has gone nowhere

Holding is different from hiding. Nobody is notified, it scores nothing, and it stays out of the digest until you approve it.

Nobody else can see these yet, and no one has been notified.

You will know it worked when you know what moderation took back, and what had already gone.

Can I check comments before they go up?

Turn on comment approval and every member comment waits for you. It's a separate switch from the one for posts.

Can I message one member privately, and can members message each other?

Message one member from Community, then Members. Their reply comes back to that screen, not your email. Members messaging each other is a separate setting.

Can I read what members post before it goes up?

Yes — one setting. Off, member posts appear at once. On, nothing appears until you've read it. The waiting ones don't sit in the Feed.
